Fiscal year end charitable nonprofits have been receiving their annual registration renewal notices from the Charitable Organization Division of the Secretary of State.  Please note that those notices, in addition to asking for your organizations annual registration materials, also are alerting your organization to possible increased fees that your organization may have to pay to renew the annual registration.  The fees will also apply to calendar year end charitable nonprofits starting with the filing of the 2014 Form 990.  The increased fees are listed below and on the Charitable Organization Division webpage.  If you have any questions please give us a buzz.

The Secretary of State and Attorney General – Charitable Enforcement and Protection of Charitable Assets bill was passed during the 2014 General Assembly Session and signed into law thereafter. Effective October 1, 2014, the Annual Charity Registration Fee for non-profits receiving more than $500,000 in charitable contributions will increase from $200.00 to $300.00. Professional Solicitor fees will increase from $300.00 to $350.00; Fund-Raising Counsel fees will increase from $200.00 to $250.00.
