Baltimore, MD- Ellin & Tucker, the Baltimore-based public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that it has appointed three of its professionals to principals: John Coppola, CPA, MBA; Stephanie McGuire, CPA; and Dan Thrailkill, CPA.
After serving as the chief financial officer of Archbishop Spalding High School for more than seven years, John Coppola rejoined Ellin & Tucker in 2013. In his new role as principal in the firm’s audit, accounting and consulting department, he will continue to be a leader in the firm’s Not-for-Profit Services Group, focusing specifically on audit, accounting and consulting services for independent schools and educational organizations.
Coppola is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He is a board member and finance committee chair of Archbishop Spalding High School and a member of the Next Generation Group of the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation Board. He graduated from Loyola University of Maryland with a bachelor of business administration in accounting and a master of business administration in finance.
Stephanie McGuire has helped develop the firm’s not-for-profit, manufacturing and distribution industries, both nationally and internationally. In addition to her financial reporting and business consulting expertise, Stephanie is a leader in Ellin & Tucker’s quality control standards department, which provides the latest accounting pronouncements and standards updates to professionals in the firm.
McGuire is chairperson of the firm’s audit and accounting technical standards committee and is a member of the AICPA, the MACPA and the University of Baltimore’s Accounting Advisory Board. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola University Maryland.
Dan Thrailkill has been promoted to principal in Ellin & Tucker’s tax department. Over his 10-year career in the tax industry, Thrailkill has provided tax planning, compliance and consulting services to businesses in a wide variety of industries, including technology start-ups, investment partnerships and commercial real estate. As principal, he will join the senior leadership of the tax department and continue to handle client engagements while mentoring the next generation of tax professionals.
Thrailkill is a member of the AICPA, the MACPA and MACPA’s New Young Professionals Network. He was recently appointed treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore. He graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in accounting and finance.
