Baltimore, Md- Ellin & Tucker, the Baltimore-based public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that Daniel J. Thrailkill, CPA and manager in the tax services group at Ellin & Tucker, was recently appointed treasurer to the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore (BGCMB).
In his new role as treasurer, Thrailkill will be responsible for overseeing the BGCMB’s strategic financial decisions, and be responsible for consulting and monitoring budgets for the Clubs’ numerous programs and services.
Established is 2007, the BGCMB focuses on helping to inspire, enable and shape the lives of thousands of young children and youth in underserved communities through development programs and services with an emphasis on educational and prevention programming. The Clubs serve over 4,200 children and youth ages 6 to 18 with more than 200 kids passing through the doors of the locations in Brooklyn Homes, O’Donnell Heights, Park Heights and Westport Homes each day. The not-for-profit is part of a network of more than 4,000 Boys and Girls Clubs nationwide and on U.S. military installations worldwide.
“My experience working with the children and youth through the BGCMB’s life-enhancing programs and outreach initiatives has been extremely rewarding on many levels,” said Thrailkill. “The BGCMB has a tremendously positive impact on the Baltimore community and I am looking forward to contributing to the organization’s growth in my new position.”
A graduate of Salisbury University with a degree in accounting and finance, Thrailkill has been providing tax planning, compliance and consulting services to businesses owners in a wide variety of industries, including technology start-ups, investment partnerships and commercial real estate for nearly a decade. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and MACPA’s New Young Professionals Network.
