The public accounting and business consulting firm, Ellin & Tucker, was recently honored for its community service efforts along with 11 other companies by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake at the 39th annual Mayor’s Business Recognition Awards Luncheon. At the awards luncheon, which was jointly presented by the Mayor, the Greater Baltimore Committee and the Baltimore Development Corporation, Ellin & Tucker and fellow awardees were recognized as having demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community and dedication to improving the quality of life in Baltimore City.
Edwin Brake, managing director of Ellin & Tucker, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
“Making a difference in the communities we serve is one of our core values at Ellin & Tucker. We have been actively engaged with our community since our founding nearly 70 years ago … we are incredibly honored and proud to be recognized by the Mayor as an outstanding community leader in Baltimore,” said Brake.
Throughout 2013, Ellin & Tucker volunteered at, donated to or hosted 16 community projects in partnership with non-profit organizations in Baltimore, including everything from preparing and serving food at My Sister’s Place to sponsoring a fiesta to raise funds for the United Way of Central Maryland. Over the past four years, the firm’s Giving Back Committee has also partnered with a variety of other organizations including Catholic Charities’ Our Daily Bread, Civic Works, First Fruits Farms, Home Instead, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Maryland Food Bank, Maryland SPCA, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore and more, with the committee logging nearly 1,000 hours of volunteer work.
