Baltimore, Md. – Ellin & Tucker, the Baltimore-based public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that Aileen Eskildsen, CPA, director and professional development coordinator, received the 2015 Outstanding Accounting Alumnus award from Towson University’s Department of Accounting. The award ceremony was held on May 11, 2015.
The Outstanding Accounting Alumnus Award recognizes one Towson alumnus’ distinguished professional accomplishments and dedicated services to the university’s accounting program.
“My education at Towson University laid the groundwork and prepared me for a successful career in accounting and I am thrilled and honored to receive this recognition,” said Eskildsen. “It is truly humbling to serve as a role model for the next generation of accounting professionals and empower them with the knowledge and experiences I have learned first-hand.”
The Department of Accounting at Towson University provides a quality and accessible accounting education, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, that leads to successful career development, positions of business and social responsibility, leadership and life-long learning in a rapidly changing global environment.
Eskildsen joined Ellin & Tucker after receiving her bachelor of science degree in accounting at Towson University and quickly became a leader within the firm. In 2007, she rose to the role of principal in the firm’s Audit, Accounting and Consulting Department and in 2008, she created the role of professional development coordinator, which oversees the career development of Ellin & Tucker’s professionals. She also oversees the firm’s recruiting committee, which focuses on the recruitment of accounting professionals from area universities.
Active in the community, Eskildsen is member of Network 2000, a Baltimore-based, invitation-only organization dedicated to championing and promoting the advancement of women within their chosen fields. She is also on the advisory boards of Towson University and Loyola University.
