INDUSTRY OF EXPERTISE
Aileen is a Director at Ellin & Tucker and also serves as the firm’s Professional Development Coordinator. Aileen rejuvenated the firm’s Professional Development Program in 2008 and created the Professional Development Coordinator advisory role in order to build and retain high quality talent and further strengthen the firm’s and professional staff’s long term sustainability. In her current position, Aileen directs the firm’s continuing education, training, and mentoring programs to ensure all professionals are receiving the support necessary to develop technically as professionals and prepare them successfully for future firm leadership. Aileen dedicates her time to supporting, guiding, and developing more than 100 firm staff at all levels in order to build more firm leaders, foster better communication amongst staff, and assist young professionals in passing the CPA exam.
Additionally, Aileen is responsible for the firm’s Mentoring Committee and Recruiting Committee. The Mentoring Committee assists new professionals as they transition into the firm and begin to set long term objectives and goals for their professional development. The Recruitment Committee engages current college students through on-campus recruiting events for possible internship and employment opportunities.
In 2009, Aileen provided the guidance and mentorship necessary for a group of young leaders at Ellin & Tucker to develop the Giving Back Committee, an internal group dedicated to donating time and energy to philanthropic initiatives throughout Maryland. More than five years later, this committee remains highly active with Aileen serving a supervisory leadership role. Under her oversight, the Giving Back Committee has worked with over 40 different charitable organizations, logging over 2,000 hours of community service and donating more than 2,500 items.
Aileen has been tapped by Baltimore Business Journal and I95 Business Magazine to share her insights on female millennials in the workplace, recruitment efforts of Baltimore businesses and experience growing future leaders. Aileen also remains heavily vested in the professional development of future accounting professionals on a collegiate level. Additionally, Aileen has been a guest speaker and panelist, as well as guest lecturer, for several panel discussions and events hosted by Towson University’s College of Business and Economics Program, Johns Hopkins University and Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business, on topics including women’s leadership, technical accounting, and career development.
Aileen earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Towson University and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
