Employee Benefit Plan
Stephanie specializes in providing employee benefit plan services for numerous clients in the not-for-profit, manufacturing, wholesale and construction industries. She is a principal in Ellin & Tucker’s audit, accounting and consulting department, and has been with the firm for 10 years. Having worked on many of the firm’s defined contribution and benefit plan engagements, Stephanie has developed the accounting tools necessary to address the many intricacies and complexities of benefit plan audits, as well as the common challenges of the industry’s ever-changing standards. As a member of the firm’s employee benefit plan services group she contributes to the cultivation and management of the firm’s clients, and as such, has a solid grasp on both national and international employee benefit plan audit standards and trends.
Stephanie is a member of the audit and accounting technical standards committee, which develops programs to enhance the professional staff’s understanding of current accounting and financial reporting standards. She has an excellent mastery of technology, allowing her to train firm staff on and implement accounting software.
In addition to her employee benefit plan work, Stephanie is responsible for conducting audits and reviews, compiling financial statements and preparing corporate tax returns for privately held companies in the following industries: construction, manufacturing, not-for-profit, real estate and wholesale.
Stephanie’s understanding of the ins and outs of audit standards has made her an invaluable resource to plan sponsors. She was recently asked by Employee Benefit News to share her expertise on how plan sponsors can avoid red flags on their audits.
Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola University Maryland and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
