Baltimore, Md. – Ellin & Tucker, the Baltimore-based public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that Bryan Porter, CPA, MS, director at the firm, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Baltimore Museum of Industry — a museum that celebrates Maryland’s industrial legacy. As a member of the board, Porter will help guide the organization as it continues educating and engaging visitors and the community.

Ellin & Tucker has been a longtime supporter of the Baltimore Museum of Industry. Porter succeeds Wm. Streett Baldwin, CPA, director at the firm, who has served on the Board of Trustees since 2008 and most recently as board chair. As a leader in Ellin & Tucker’s Manufacturing Services Group and a native of Baltimore, Porter believes his position on the board aligns perfectly with his professional experiences and personal interests.

“After meeting with current trustees and staff members, I can see the bar is set high to help the organization educate our community and to challenge local businesses and individuals to rethink what ‘industry’ means for our region,” said Porter. “I’m excited and honored to be a part of that and look forward to seeing how local industries will continue to shape and make history here in Baltimore.”

A seasoned professional who has been with Ellin & Tucker for 13 years, Porter provides high-quality audits, compilations and reviews of financial statements; prepares corporate tax returns; and offers advisory services to clients in the construction, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional services, technology, real estate and not-for-profit industries. He is an engagement leader on many of the firm’s most significant client engagements and has played an integral role in the cultivation and management of those clients.

Porter is a member of Ellin & Tucker’s Audit and Accounting Technical Standards Committee, which is responsible for communicating technical guidance to firm personnel, management and ownership. He is also a member of the firm’s recruiting committee and mentoring program, which helps to train and acclimate new professional staff to the firm. Outside of Ellin & Tucker, Porter is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Associated of Certified Public Accountants, Emerging Leaders United of the United Way of Central Maryland and Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake.

Porter earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Delaware and his master’s degree in accounting and business advisory services from Towson University.
