Ellin & Tucker Kicks off 2022 with Two Leadership Promotions

We are proud to announce the promotion of two Ellin & Tucker professionals to the position of principal: Renee Collins of our audit and accounting department, and Kevin Sommers in the tax department.

Renee Collins has spent her entire professional career with Ellin & Tucker, joining the firm in 2010 after graduating from Towson University. Since then, she has consistently proven herself to be an invaluable part of our team, naturally growing into a leadership role within the audit and accounting group. Her commitment to serving our clients has been instrumental in expanding and maintaining Ellin & Tucker’s strong position in the construction, manufacturing, and not-for-profit fields. Additionally, her vast expertise with employee benefit plans has given her the ability to effectively address the needs of our clients.

Renee attributes her professional development to Ellin & Tucker’s supportive culture. “Working here has given me the opportunity to create my own career path. I’ve consistently been given the tools and guidance I need to achieve my professional and personal goals, whether that was passing the CPA exam, preparing me to step into this exciting new role, or providing me with the flexibility that I needed to start a family.” A native of Pennsylvania, Renee now resides in Ellicott City with her husband and three children. She loves being an active mom both in the classroom and on the sports field.

While Kevin Sommers didn’t begin his career at Ellin & Tucker, his previous experience in the public and private accounting industries, along with his exceptional client service skills, have earned him a place at the firm’s tax leadership table. Kevin joined the firm in 2017, bringing a level of expertise and in-depth industry knowledge suited for Ellin & Tucker’s most influential construction, wholesale distribution, real estate, and private wealth clients.

In his new position, Kevin looks forward to having an even greater focus on client service, an attribute that both he and the firm are known for. “My favorite part about Ellin & Tucker is working side-by-side with our clients,” Kevin said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to build strong and long-lasting relationships and to work with them, as a part of their team, to reach their financial goals.”

Kevin is a graduate of Towson University and Maryland Native, with a love for sports and all things Baltimore (Go O’s and Ravens!).
