The “dog days” of summer may have officially come to an end, but that didn’t stop Ellin & Tucker’s Giving Back Committee from hosting a Helping Hour benefitting our furry friends at the Baltimore Humane Society (BHS)! Since its founding in 1927, BHS has provided a temporary home, a safe refuge and care for thousands of homeless pets each year in the Baltimore area. The BHS works diligently to place each animal that comes to the shelter into a loving, permanent home.
Throughout the month of August, Amy Calandrelle, a member of Giving Back Committee and audit and accounting department facilitated a donation drive for dog treats, colorful duct tape, cardboard boxes and other supplies that would be used to make dog enrichment toys and cat scratchers. On Thursday, August 26th, several E&T team members gathered to make a total of 250 dog and cat toys bundles for the animals at the shelter! The next day, Amy and the Giving Back Committee members visited BHS to drop off the donations, where they received a tour of BHS’ facilities and met some of the cuddly companions currently available for adoption.
By working with organizations like The Baltimore Humane Society deeply rooted in our community, the Giving Back Committee continues to make an impact in Baltimore, the city we are proud to call home.
