Jessica Lopez Appointed Chair of the MACPA State Tax Committee

We are pleased to share that our very own Jessica Lopez, a principal in Ellin & Tucker’s tax department, has been elected to serve as Chair of the State Tax Committee for the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), a professional organization for CPAs and accounting professionals in Maryland.

“There are many changes on the horizon for Maryland taxpayers,” said Jessica. “As Chair, I’m hoping to be the first recipient of guidance so I can share it with the rest of the professional community. That way all of us can be better advisors to business leaders of Maryland.”

The MACPA’s State Tax Committee consists of a group of professionals dedicated to providing technical expertise and advocacy on state tax issues in Maryland. Jessica has been a member of the committee since 2017.

Jessica said, “I have deep gratitude for the professionals who have come before me and laid the foundation for a working partnership with Maryland. It’s my turn to be a leader and make sure our voice and the voices of our clients are heard in the rooms where decisions are made.”

In addition to her role as Chair of the MACPA’s State Tax Committee, Jessica is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), as well as a member of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Symphony Orchestra.
