Keisha Whaley Appointed to Maryland Comptroller’s Advisory Council

We are pleased to share that our very own Keisha Whaley, a supervisor in Ellin & Tucker’s tax department, has been selected to serve on the Maryland Comptroller’s Financial Literacy Advisory Council.

The Comptroller’s office established its advisory councils in 2023 to engage subject-matter experts and community partners to help guide its goals, policy, and initiatives. In her role on the Financial Literacy Advisory Council, Keisha will help develop a financial literacy agenda to maintain the Comptroller’s office as a trusted Maryland resource.

Financial literacy for youth has been a long-standing passion of Keisha’s. She has spent years working with not-for-profit organizations and private schools across the Mid-Atlantic to build and implement financial literacy programs. “I believe when young people learn these skills early,” Keisha said, “they’re better equipped as adults and develop strong financial habits.” Serving on the council is a natural extension of Keisha’s commitment. She continued, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to something bigger than myself and to lend my voice as a CPA and finance leader.”

In addition to her work with the Comptroller, Keisha serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Zeta National Education Foundation, is a member of the Penn Alumni Ambassador Program, and serves on the advisory board for the University of Pennsylvania’s Weingarten Learning Center.

Ellin & Tucker is proud to support Keisha as she continues to make a difference through financial education. Congrats!
